Nefarious is a very unique movie. Not only does it have a very interesting back history to it on how it was created but the movie itself gives a very interesting account of demonic possession. So while we sit here and we wonder what is demonic possession and how does it manifest itself, most people will look at movies such as The exorcist, The conjuring, Annabelle and those movies to be the closest things to what exorcisms and possessions look like.

So as we go back into the movie in the movie nefarious, it follows this guy who is a serial killer. Not only has this guy killed numerous people, he has killed more than the cops have caught him for. It starts off with a psychologist to end up committing suicide. This leads to a new psychologist to come to the place to do an evaluation to make sure that this said serial killer is able to withhold the death penalty or if he is supposed to go to a mental ward.
As soon as the psychologist enters this person knows more about his life than anybody that was in his life. His wife, his mother, anybody. And he states to this guy at the end of the day that the psychologist will commit three murders.
And that’s as far as I’m going to go when it comes down to the spoilers of the movie.
The movie Nefarious is based off of book called The Nefarious plot. The really interesting thing about it is when it was being created, a guy contacted a director and told him about the movie. But the author of the book ended up giving the director full creative freedom on what he wanted to do with the movie. So instead of making it fully about the but he took the book and twisted it a bit to make it a prequel. And the book is supposed to be similar to the Scarlet letters based on CS Lewis. While the movie itself is a very interesting beautiful movie it has a sense of horror in it. A huge psychological sense thriller that has no violence, no swearing and no sexual content but the complete disturbing understanding of how a demonic possession would occur.
When we think of demonic possession we think of it of people climbing up on ceilings, levitating, having unlimited strength but this was more of a psychological movie. This plays on the mental aspect of a person. The willingness to give up your own soul for a demon to inhabit. A demon inhabiting soul of a person will then take heed and allow the psychological sense of a person to diminish and the demon to take control of a human body. This allows the demon to carry out his will such as murder, lust, anything the demon desires to do in this world. When this is being explained in the movie as well as in a psychological sense they were referencing it as dissociative identity disorder or multiple personalities. Some people believe a type of schizophrenia. However, this came as an insult to the demon. The demon knew all about the DSM, he knew about the mental disorders, he knew about people’s lives, he knew about the creation of the world, he knew how ignorant atheists can be. And that’s when it came down to a three-way spiral. A war of three people.

This movie was beyond anything I could ever fathom. It was a beautifully articulated movie that not only provided overwhelming knowledge and understanding of what demonic possession could be today but how it twists today to help people naturally see the world.
I absolutely 100% 10 out of 10 recommend watching this movie if you are a Christian or if you’re an atheist or if you’re anything. This movie is beyond normal. It will definitely open your eyes and show you the world for how it truly is. The reason why I say this is because not only do I have degrees in psychology, it was my major in the university and world religions again as my minor. But it gives you an understanding from an ancient time that doesn’t exist today. Everybody in the ancient time believed people with mental disorders were possessed, and today we see anybody with any kind of decline mentally as a person that just is mentally unstable or has some sort of disorder.
So the question that remains is our mental disorders completely in everything that has to do with a person’s mind or is a mental disorder something that is embedded into our mind to try to tempt us into evil, or try to tempt us to lead us away from God?
I’d recommend renting or buying this movie, as well as looking up the book than the nefarious plot if you’re interested in learning or reading more about this.
That said in one of the interviews that they had, you can watch them on YouTube they talked about how many different events that were almost supernatural in nature occurred to try to have them stop to make this movie and in another aspect there is many aspects that happened that tried to force them to make this movie. And the directors almost felt a presence of good versus evil in the filmmaking. You’ve can feel free to watch that on YouTube and lastly about this movie, beyond everything that was in here that I just wrote… The nefarious movie was said in an interview to just be a part of an ongoing series and franchise of movies that are going to come out. I don’t know how serious it is because I don’t know the money or how much they made but I do know this.
One the guy approached him to make the movie in a phone call, the next day he got a check for $2 million dollars to make the movie. Now keep in mind 2 million dollars isn’t a lot of money to make a movie the very low budget. They had many events that almost made it so they couldn’t make the movie but they enlisted Sean Patrick flanery to play the possessed Man and throughout the entire movie there is two natures of the man. The scared , nervous, worried and shaky person that the demonic person called nefarious possessed and nefarious which was played by the same actor and give them more intellectual, calm, powerful, scary and definitive understanding to a person with a normal mind. In other words a person that was in the higher level than an average human intellectually and in a way spiritually because of his knowledge about the spiritual realm, God and what they refer to as Jesus being the carpenter.
